Relax

Last year, people close to me lost their homes in the Malibu fire. Once the flames were finally contained, weeks passed before anyone could return. When the roads reopened, I went with my family to help them search through what was left before it was all cleared away. The scene was both overwhelming and deeply emotional. We had celebrated Christmas there together not so long before, and now everything that had once been warm and full of love was gone. But one detail stood out: a lawn cushion, almost untouched, resting on the remains of the pool deck. It bore a single word—Relax.
