She stands as if time has paused around her.
Behind her, the wall holds marks of past gestures — colour pressed into stone, symbols left without explanation. In front of her, the ground falls away into earth, roots, and decay. She does not belong fully to either. Instead, she exists within a narrow pocket of stillness, suspended between retreat and advance.
Her body leans back, yet does not surrender. Weight settles into her heels, boots grounding her against the pull of gravity, while her torso remains open, exposed to light and air. The posture suggests both resistance and acceptance, as though she is bracing herself while remaining receptive.
The world around her feels restless. Broken branches, eroded soil, and fractured surfaces imply movement, collapse, and time passing. Against this, her presence is steady. Skin meets rough concrete. Warm flesh presses against cold surface. The human form asserts itself not through dominance, but through endurance.
This is not a pose of confrontation, nor of escape. It is a moment of holding. Holding breath. Holding ground. Holding the space between before and after.
The Edge of Her World captures that fragile interval — the place where direction has not yet been chosen, where the body listens before it moves. The image does not resolve the tension. It allows her to remain inside it, fully present, contained within her own quiet sphere.
