This photographic series explores nature as a living, unstable force at the threshold between beauty and destruction. The work is created through a combination of multiple exposure, photographic compositing, intentional camera movement, and subsequent digital post-production. Within the images, the landscape dissolves into shifting structures of light, color, and time; the fixed horizon disappears and space becomes unstable.
The photographs were created in locations historically associated with William Turner. The intention was not to quote or recreate his works, but to consciously engage with the same landscapes from a contemporary perspective. The series builds upon Turner’s understanding of atmosphere and natural forces, reinterpreted through a present-day lens shaped by environmental uncertainty.
The work reflects climate change, the loss of balance, and human fragility in the face of natural processes. These photographs do not function as documents, but as an authorial interpretation of the experience of landscape — an abstract meditation on awe, vulnerability, and the limits of human control.
