The area known as Stonehenge has existed since abt. 3000 BCE. The stones that stand today are visited by over 970,00 people annually, bringing with them their curiosity, awe and reverence. From solstice and equinox celebrations to brisk summer mornings, people look through the spectacular arches of Stonehenge with wonder and admiration. The volume of history and amazement abounding within the exposed walls of bluestone of the ring can be felt by each individual as one ambles throughout, gazing at the colossal masterwork of engineering. A moment in time certainly not forgotten for those fortunate enough to have experienced the monument. Stonehenge has become a place of wonder for many and a journey of education and spirituality for others. Whatever motivation we have to visit, the ancient stone circle will stand protected today, tomorrow and far into the future for further individuals to appreciate and admire.
