The World of the Badger

A badger sett may have one or several exits. The sett of the badger family I observed near Bakonybél, Hungary has numerous exits. The main exit changes from year to year and season to season. The exit used last spring gave me the opportunity to photograph a member of the family under the starry sky as she leaves the sett for her night walk. I set up everything before sunset. The equipment was in manual mode. I stood about 25-30 meters away from the camera under the cover of a tree and waited for the right moment. The camera was triggered by a radio remote controller. The photo is the result of five years of observation.
