Brialynn is an award winning, human generated fine art artist and filmmaker struggling with Borderline Personality Disorder since their first suicide attempt at thirteen years old. They are passionate about incorporating this perspective and glimmer into the unique, tragic experiences of others like them inspiring connection, conversation, and hope, to bridge this gap of misunderstanding in the most stigmatized mental illness exploited in clinical, social, and even legal settings to discredit survivors of abuse.
Being 5150'd more often than attending school before formal treatment, Brialynn has an intimate understanding of the statistics: someone with BPD attempts suicide on average three times in their life… and one in ten will succeed. This is the highest suicide rate of all personality disorders.
Their work celebrates the colorful, beautiful aspects of BPD, while exposing raw, ugly confessions of being a recovered manic pixie dream girl.
Brialynn’s creations have been featured in multiple festivals, including the renowned Molins Film Festival and the New York Horror Film Festival for their short film, “Self Sabotage.”
They are self-taught, have been mentored by brilliant artists, and have crashed and burned in humiliating, spectacular failures throughout their career.
